The Pindoctor Show Premiere!

Today's the day that will rock the acupuncture world like an orange tree with scurvy! Yahoo! The Pindoctor Show is now up on YouTube and we'll soon be getting a much better quality vid on the home site www.thepindoctorshow.com
I'm posting here at the request of WCA. Adrenaline, the Yellow Emperor and I are so excited that we have at least three fans (Lisa, Skip and Lupine). They also got a sneak peek and some under the table money to say they liked it.
At the core of this project is my feeling that Chinese Medicine is still largely being presented to the public at as this mysterious entity. My hope is that by using humor as the vechicle, I can help break down some of those walls. I so admire those of you who are working on legislation issues and who are committee organizers, etc. After a decade of practicing, comedy is all I have left to offer the profession! Well, at least this month.
I'm excited to see the reaction to the show, especially as it progresses. I hope many people love it, and I hope some people hate it. I earned my B.A. in Art History so I understand criticism fairly well and it doesn't scare me. (Nevermind that I embedded needles in K 3 and BL 23...hard-to-lean-back-in-chair...)
I hope the show encourages dialogue in the profession about the various issues we satirize. Ultimately, and most importantly, I hope it leads people into acupuncture treatments!

Thank you for the humorous satire Mats. At the same time, the tears on your face when your paper towel heiress client ditches you - whether real or staged, evoke painful memories. I can easily imagine a lot of disillusioned acupunks right now - people who thought they were embarking on a noble healing tradition at the outset of school, only to end up saddled with huge debts and an empty practice due to the inherent problems with the way acupuncture is taught in america.

Mats, aside from being turned off by the vaguely "Fu Manchu" accent of the guy playing the Yellow Emperor, I thought it was hilarious! Actually my favorite part was the first minute: loved the BEST (dressed) ACUPUNCTURIST award, the Armani line, and I literally had to pause the video for about a minute because I was laughing so hard at "the cooking spray and paper towel heiress!?!?!?" Great delivery. I was impressed by the acting and relatively high production values. I'll definitely stay tuned.
