Frequent Treatments

Running with the theme Diana expertly broached in her last blog entry, 'frequent treatments' may either become my personal mantra, the name of my first born or both. I have learned more about the potency of acupuncture treatments this summer - while seeing many patients 2-3/week - than the previous 10 summers combined. All of this is possible because of the bottom line - affordable fees. Period.

I am witnessing folks turn the corner from debilitating long-term pain, weakness and/or emotional unrest, over a matter of days/weeks, instead of weeks/months/never. This has been an education and an honor. Nothing is more satisfying, on a number of levels.

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with a prospective co-worker who trained in China. When asked if he would be comfortable with the prospect of treating up to 6 people an hour, he responded, 'of course'. Going on, he explained this community/clinical set-up is 'quite normal' in his clinical experience where patients are treated together in one room, often on a daily basis for two weeks, then one week off. 'Acupuncture alone can treat almost any illness' if it is used this often, he surmised.

========================

I know most, of not all of us CAN'ers realize 'CA' is not a 'new' notion, but more a brilliant americanized twist, honoring traditional ways. But to be reminded of the matter-of-fact reality of frequent treatments in our professional Motherland, and the predictable successful outcomes was refreshing.

Thus far this summer, treating folks frequently has proven to me the difference between **absolutely being stone-cold sold on the power of acupuncture** and knowing what may be possible - someday.

Someday no longer...

Re: Frequent Treatments

Andy, I'm thinking what with your post being the second post after Diana's, that we could do worse thasn having every other blog post saying, "Frequency! Frequency!! Frequency!!!"
