Pictures of a CA clinic
I sent photos of my new clinic to Skip, Lisa and Lupine, and Skip suggested that I post the photos on the blog so that everyone could see what my clinic looks like.
I must say that the treatment room is really much nicer in person than the photos portray as I usually have some soft lamps on, but had to turn on the overhead flourescent lights to get a good picture (yuck).
The clinic, Minnesota Community Acupuncture, opened May 14th. We have 1,742 sq feet with a lobby, conference room, practitioner office, private treatment room (where I treat children using Shonishin), and a 29 x 30 CA treatment room with 16 recliners.
I'm now working on ways to maximize the space usage for marketing purposes. This includes free health seminars on specialized topics such as allergies, menopause, etc.. I've also considered finding a massage therapist who would be interested in using the mostly unused private treatment room, however, I haven't started that searh in earnest yet.
I've been doing this solo since May, but have brought on another LAc this week which has helped to re-kindle my excitement and we're brainstorming on how to get the word out more.
Ann Mongeau will be bringing her MN Fall conference attendees here to see the clinic so if you're signed up for that you'll get to see the clinic first hand.
I love being in my clinic (which is good because I'm here a lot), and I've gotten good feedback on the "feel" in the treatment room. I think that has to do with the collective healing energy from the patients because I feel it too.
When I was in school I had no idea what my practice would look like, but since I found WCA and the Community Acupuncture model I couldn't conceive of practicing any other way.

Re: Pictures of a CA clinic
My god it looks gorgeous! I was so struggling with opening a clinic that was not pleasing to the eye and you have really inspired me. Good job on getting it going on your own, I am in the process and overwhelmed but I know it will get done and those who need to will follow and join up. Thanks again for sharing.
Re: Pictures of a CA clinic
thanks for posting the photos, your clinic looks fantastic. The blue bowls are a great idea and one that I'm going to borrow.
Re: Pictures of a CA clinic
I love your graphic. Very clever and refreshing. Thanks for the photos.

Dave you win the prize. I was wondering how long it would take before someone asked about them.
Since the lighting is so soft in there the blue bowls are for watches, bracelets, cell phones, wallets, or change. People carry a lot of stuff around with them and I thought this way they could put it in one place and then be able to find it again in the dark.

Inspiring!
What are the blue bowls by the chairs for? Bed-pans? ;-)
Re: Pictures of a CA clinic
Congratulations-it looks great! Makes me want to have a bigger community room. Thanks for the pics.

Re: Pictures of a CA clinic
I'm impressed. It looks like a great place to get a treatment. :-)
Re: Pictures of a CA clinic
I was only allowed to attach 5 pictures with my post, but then realized that if I responded that I could attach the rest. (I know, it's cheating isn't it?)
Here are the conference room, the private treatment room that I've been using for children, and the practitioners' office.

Re: Pictures of a CA clinic
I've been there! It is a beautiful space and feels great. It is nicer in person with the soft lighting. I was sitting in one of the chairs while our group was chatting, I was so comfortable I could have sat there all day.
