working in my slippers

Where else can you go to work in your slippers? The thought crossed my mind as I headed home from another week of community acupuncture.

We had a write up in one of the local papers last week, which helped boost our numbers for the week -- 52 treatments! I am ready for more! Now that I have settled into the routine I find myself checking the appointment book with a magnifying glass, making sure that all the little spaces get filled in.

I had a student in last week to observe and she asked me, "don't you get tired treating so many people?" I laughed, "tired?" "just the opposite, I get energized, because I am apart of something so much bigger than me!" In my former practice, when I was lucky enough to see 5 to 6 patients in a day, I almost dreaded it -- knowing I would feel exhausted after a day of needling, massaging, talking, cupping, TDP lamping, reciting incantations, and burning my sacred mugwort. I loved it all, but it was exhausting! Now I am upset when I don't have 4 patients in an hour! I love the feel and flow of CA, especially in my l.l.bean slippers!

This home, womb, healing space, that we have created is a sacred space within our community, where people can come together to heal and be healed -- and I'm the lucky facilitator.

Cheers!

Thanks for the slippers tip Mike :). I'm looking into getting some for work.
