The Integrator Blog notices Disintegrative Medicine is on the rise, Mark Seem lets the entry-level cat out of the bag…too bad it’s road kill, AAAOM provides a forum for conversation that it can’t totally control and PCOM finally figures out how to separate the branch from the root…with Community-Style Acupuncture!

Do you have a passion for changing the way health care works (or doesn't work in our country)?  um, hopefully, if you are reading this,  the answer to that question is yes.  So here's a chance for all of us to put our community acupuncture centers where our big mouths are. 

Dear CAN friends,

I have been in Dharamsala, aka "Little Tibet", in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains of Northern India for the past 6 days. 

In the words of my favorite comedian Sandra Bernhard, "I'm still here, damnit."  I say this more to remind myself than anyone else--athough I have fallen off CAN.  After practicing for a decade, I debated this summer, heavily, as to whether or not to practice any longer. 

To express our best wishes for the Season, in English we say Merry Christmas and Happy a New Year, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa.....

A note on synchronicity: this post apparently written simultaneously with Jordan's preceeding one.

It's wintertime in the cold, rainy mid-Atlantic; and, a boy's fancy
turns to vacation, or travel. But, just as quickly, it turns to doubting that that
can really happen while running and growing a business.

I'm taking a vacation with my family. We're going to India for a month - and not a moment too soon with a blast of Arctic air and Seattle's famous liquid sunshine pelting the windows as I type. It's been a long time since I've taken a month off, and I've never taken that length of time without suspending all income streams for the duration.

After much contention between the American Medical Association (AMA) and the ACAOM over the proposed first professional doctorate degree in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, a compromise was reached that will alter the healthcare acronym landscape into a terrain that can be more easily navigated by patients.  The AMA has agreed to change the Medical Doctor abbreviation MD, to the new Western Med

Next month, our clinic will have been offering community-style treatments for 3 years.  Let me begin by letting out a big celebratory WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP to go with the above statement.

Christmas and Hanukah are around the corner – this year, not without incident.  Most recently while rehearsing for his big Christmas delivery night Santa was found stuck in a chimney.  Unlike others who have been stuck in chimneys before (http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/12/26/offbeat.naked.chimney.ap/index.html), Santa’s incident was slightly less embarrassing and, upon rescue by the fire departm

I can really understand why many different people, reading this blog, would feel hurt, attacked, misunderstood, unfairly maligned, and on top of it all, bewildered.

As I watched with amusement the Big 3 go with suitably chastised bowed heads back to Washington today with a plan as to why" we the people " should give them 34 billion to get their financial houses in order a few similarities with the institutions in this country that train acupuncturists struck me .
